SACRED FEMININE TREASURES (for women only)
Sisters your womb is sacred! This class brings awareness to the area of
the reproductive system in order to enhance vitality.
We will practice Internal Exercises designed
to helps in the conservation of "Jing". (see definition below) We will
address our relationship with sexuality in a safe environment where
attitudes and beliefs will be explored in a trans-personal way.
Here is a definition of Jing taken from Wikepedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jing_(TCM)
Jīng (Chinese: 精; Wade-Giles: ching1) is the
Chinese word for "essence", specifically kidney essence. Along with qì and
shén, it is considered one of the Three Treasures Sanbao 三寶 of Traditional
Chinese Medicine or TCM. Jīng is stored in the kidneys and is the most
dense physical matter within the body (as opposed to shén which is the
most volatile). It is said to be the material basis for the physical body
and is yīn in nature, which means it nourishes, fuels, and cools the body.
As such it is an important concept in the internal martial arts.
Jīng is also believed by some to be the
carrier of our heritage (similar to DNA). Production of semen, in the man,
and menstrual blood (or pregnancy), in the woman, are believed to place
the biggest strains on jīng. Because of this, some even equate jīng with
semen, but this is inaccurate; the jīng circulates through the 8
extraordinary vessels and creates marrow and semen, among other
functions.[1] One is said to be born with a set amount of jīng (pre-natal
jīng, also sometimes called yuan qi) and also can acquire jīng from food
and various forms of stimulation (exercise, study, meditation.)
Theoretically, jīng is consumed continuously in life; by everyday stress,
illness, substance abuse, sexual intemperance, etc. Pre-natal jīng by
definition cannot be renewed, and it is said it is completely consumed
upon dying.
So, this jīng is considered quite important
for longevity in TCM. Many disciplines related to qìgōng are devoted to
the replenishment of "lost" jīng by restoration of the post-natal jīng. In
particular, the internal martial arts (esp. Tai chi chuan) and the Circle
Walking of Baguazhang may be used to preserve pre-natal jīng and build
post-natal jīng - if performed correctly. Commonplace in China is the
sight of rénshēn on sale in herb shops, at a wide range of prices - Kung
Fu classics fans may remember it used as a plot element at the start of
Drunken Master 2. Rénshēn, particularly Korean and Chinese, is said to
bolster the jīng and a common medicinal recipe is to add to porridge (of
course congee in China) along with cinnamon, goji berries and ginger for a
sweet, warming breakfast when the weather starts to turn cold in Autumn.
THE WAY OF THE FEMININE
What is the Way of the Feminine? This workshop is devoted to bring light
on Feminine qualities much needed in our times. We will explore feminine
qualities along with masculine qualities as a way to bring more harmony
between the two.
As stated in Chapter 28 of the Tao Te Ching
http://www.taoism.net/ttc/complete.htm
Know the masculine, hold to the feminine
Be the watercourse of the world...
And in Chapter 6
The valley spirit, undying
Is called the Mystic Female
The gate of the Mystic Female
Is called the root of Heaven and Earth
It flows continuously, barely perceptible Utilize it; it is never
exhausted.
BRIDGING THE GENDER DIVIDE

reconciliation. By devoting time to mend and strengthen our relations we

prayer, a multi-faceted rite of passage for wholeness.

enhance awareness of male and female energy. This process is designed to
strengthen honoring of positive attributes of gender as well as inspiring
conscious masculinity and femininity. We will explore ways to harmonize
the male and female essence within self extending to all our relations.
Increasing our collective tools for the psyche drawing from a diversity of
sources including dance, paratheatre, Qi Gong, writing, discussion,
massage as well as fundamental tantric practices this transformative work
will take place in co-created sacred space.

Cultured Foods
Probiotic Super Foods
Rejuvelac ~ Kumbucha ~ Cultured Vegetables
Traditionally, almost every society
regularly produced and consumed at least one cultured food. Traditional
lacto-fermentation (non-pasteurized) is more of an Art than science. In
contrast with mass-produced fermented food found in grocery store, raw
cultured foods are unheated and fermented using friendly bacteria to help
proliferate lactobacilli, healthful micro-flora. Cultured foods help to
repopulate the digestive tract, and help the body be more alkaline. Common
examples of the benefits of a more alkaline internal environment include
greater energy levels throughout the day, improved digestion, more
restorative sleep, and less aches and pains.
Besides providing an abundance of enzyme,
these high-quality, alkaline Super Foods are rich in friendly bacteria.
This healthful bacteria helps to break down sugars and starches in our
bodies, aiding the intestines and pancreas in proper digestion. Cultured
foods actually add to the enzyme stores of our body. In addition, they
help restore the PH balance if our body is in a toxic, acidic condition.
Traditional fermentation practices have
mostly been forgotten, yet now that we are more aware of the benefits of
active bacterial cultures from fermented foods on health, foods such as
cultured vegetables (sauerkraut, kimchi, chutneys), cultured dairy (kefir
and yogurt), cultured grains (rejuvelac) and kumbucha are re-appearing in
kitchens everywhere.
Kombucha
Kombucha is a fermented beverage made of tea and bacteria cultures. For
the last 2,000 years in Asia, families drank kombucha for its purported
medicinal qualities. As the Kombucha culture digests the sugar it produces
a range of organic acids like glucuronic acid, gluconic acid, lactic acid,
acetic acid, butyric acid, malic acid and usnic acid; vitamins,
particularly B vitamins and vitamin C; as well as amino acids and enzymes.
And of course there are all the benefits of the probiotic microorganisms
themselves. The Kombucha culture is a biochemical powerhouse in your
kitchen.
Rejuvelac
Rejuvelac a fermented drink used to improve digestion of food. Rejuvelac
is prepared using whole wheat, rye, quinoa, oats, barley, millet,
buckwheat, rice and other types of grains. Rejuvelac contains eight of the
B vitamins, vitamins E and K, and a variety of proteins, dextrines,
carbohydrates, phosphates, saccharines and amylases. It is rich in enzymes
that assist both your digestion, and the growth of friendly bacteria such
as lactobacillus bifidus. Lactobacillus produces a lactic acid that helps
your colon maintain its natural, vitamin producing facility. It also helps
cleanse your intestinal tract, and reduce the build-up of sludge on your
colon’s walls.
Raw Cultured Vegetables
Raw cultured vegetables are made by shredding cabbage or a combination of
cabbage and other veggies, and then packing them tightly into an airtight
jar or crock. They are then left to ferment at room temperature for
several days or longer. During the fermentation process, friendly bacteria
grow, multiply, and thrive in their new environment. They convert the
sugars and starches to lactic acid and partially digest the veggies,
softening them or “pickling” them in the process.
Pre-Order your supply of
Rejuvelac, Kombucha or Cultured
Vegetables
and they're ready for you within 7-10 days. Call
Marisa.
